Scholz & Friends appoints Till Eckel as creative managing director
Prominent new addition to Scholz & Friends in Berlin: Till Eckel will join as Partner and Managing Director in September 2022. He will thus take over Matthias Spaetgens' position in the management of Scholz & Friends Berlin. Matthias Spaetgens will then devote himself fully to his role as Chief Creative Officer of the Scholz & Friends Family, which he assumed at the beginning of the year.
Till Eckel is co-founder of Media.Monks Germany. As Chief Creative Officer and General Manager, he had built up the first German Media.Monks office of the Dutch S4 Capital subsidiary in Berlin over the past two years. Till Eckel's claim is to use creativity in such a way that it makes a relevant difference along the customer journey. The transformative approach made the Berlin office the new creative hub for BMW, MINI and other international clients such as Google and Nike. Before founding Media.Monks Germany, Till Eckel was a partner at Jung von Matt and was responsible for the creative direction of the Jung von Matt/Spree Berlin site for eight years as Chief Creative Officer. Before that, he was Creative Director at Heimat and DDB Berlin.
Matthias Spaetgens, Chief Creative Officer of the Scholz & Friends Family: "Till knows how creativity can be effective today and has proven this with his work for famous international brands. With him comes a modern creative who will support us give new impetus to the entire Scholz & Friends Family. He is one of the best in the industry. We are very happy to have won Till for us."
Till Eckel: "We have had many conversations and I was totally enthusiastic every time. That's why I'm very happy to become part of one of the currently most successful agencies. What a cool time. Together we will develop powerful ideas in every format and gather a lot of expertise around the round table. The fact that I already know the culture from my time at Scholz & Friends in Hamburg will speed up the settling in process."
Till Eckel's teams have developed award-winning campaigns with clients such as Nikon, eBay, Nike, Netflix, Haribo and Sparkasse. He is also considered a proven automotive expert: He has worked for Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Aiways and MINI. Till Eckel is a long-standing member of the Art Directors Club, where he is also committed to young creative talent, just as he is at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. He also advises several Berlin start-ups on their brand development.
